Featured Natural Gas Engines

Engine Machine natural gas engines are handcrafted in the heart of the Oklahoma Panhandle. Every engine is torn-down to its bare block and all machine work is restored to factory specs under our roof to ensure quality control. Cylinder heads are built using only natural gas valves, valve seats, valve guides and valve springs. We use natural gas piston and liner assemblies, camshafts, bearings and gaskets. All engines are mounted on custom engine stands with walk ways and surge tanks. Engines are dressed out with complete new IMPCO carburation, full Murphy shutdown system or Altronic electronic ignition system, new 22SI alternators, 42MT starters and complete wiring. All engines are test-run in-house and engines come with a six month warranty valid anywhere in the continental USA.

  • Gas Adjustment

    Mission Statement

Engine Machine takes great pride in building the best engine possible that will give our customers many years of dependable life. We want to share one, simple technique with you to keep your engine running for years to come.

Gas adjustment is one of the easiest, yet most crucial techniques to extend valve life.

    Gas Adjustment Procedure

    (Non-Turbo Engines)

    1. Before starting engine, set gas pressure at 5-6 oz coming out of the gas regulator. Increase gas –turn gas regulator clockwise. Decrease gas –turn gas regulator counter-clockwise
    2. Start engine and slowly bring engine to desired speed (ex: 1800 rpm)
    3. Go to gas regulator and slowly decrease gas until engine loses about 20 RPM. This is slightly lean of peak and our best engine life and economy.
    4. Open throttle to regain lost RPM.

    • Exhaust valve clearance:  .030-.032

    Cross Heads

Cross heads should be adjusted annually or when valve adjustments has changed considerably. To adjust crossheads, the rocker arm must be in sequence to be adjusted (loose). Loosen nut on cross head and back out adjusting screw. Now holding finger pressure down against cross head, adjust screw back down until just touching firmly on valve. This will be zero lash; No preload and no clearance. Hold adjuster screw with screw driver and tighten jam nut to 35 lbs.  Now adjust the rocker arm.
